While dining in a restaurant with a business associate, I overheard someone sitting in the next table saying: "Robert is successful in his business ventures... he's lucky to be a millionaire now!" While one wonders whether "luck" has got anything to do with Robert's success, I truly believe that Robert has planned and deliberated his efforts to achieve the current success that he enjoys.
An interesting research conducted in the US has determined that a person driving 10 miles to buy a lottery ticket is 3 times more likely to die in a car accident than winning the lottery! Yet, even with the odds of winning the lottery nearing impossible, 1 in 4 Americans believe that lottery offers them the best chance of becoming rich. Really, isn't this equivalent to just buying hope?
Surely, there is a better way for one to become rich and successful rather than going by the gambling route. I like the following quotes on success:
The recipe for success is to study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; and dream while others are wishing. - William Arthur Ward Success is simply a matter of luck. Ask any failure. - Earl Wilson The above quotes make it clear that success requires deliberate planning and hard work, definitely not luck. It's time to understand this simple truth - only losers need luck, winners certainly don't! Also Read: Attitude is Everything!
